About these pages
Forecast Bar polls Environment and Climate Change Canada's alert feed continuously to deliver push notifications to its users. These pages are the same feed, organised by place: one page for each of ECCC's 419 public forecast regions, one for each major city, and one for every province and territory. Each page shows the alerts in effect, in plain English, with a map, the last 30 days, and a running 12-month count by alert type.
Every page is also available as JSON by adding .json to its address, for anyone who wants the data in their own tools. The United States has the same pages, built from National Weather Service alerts. City list from Wikidata; region boundaries from ECCC.

Plain English
What these alerts mean
A warning means the hazard is happening or about to; a watch means conditions favour it; an advisory is a lesser hazard still worth planning around.
A severe thunderstorm with large hail, damaging wind, intense rainfall or a possible tornado is occurring or imminent. Move indoors and away from windows.
Conditions are favourable for severe thunderstorms. Keep an eye on the sky and on warnings.
Conditions are favourable for squalls over the water. Boaters should keep a close watch on the sky.
Sudden strong winds over the water, often with a thunderstorm. Boaters should seek safe harbour.
Air pollution, most often wildfire smoke, has reached levels that are dangerous to health. Limit outdoor activity and keep windows closed.
Strong sustained winds or gusts, typically 70 km/h sustained or 90 km/h gusts, that can cause damage. Secure loose objects and expect downed trees and outages.
