No ads. No ad SDKs.

A weather app that isn't selling your attention.

Forecast Bar ships with no advertising, no ad SDKs, and no third-party analytics SDKs. It's paid for by people who subscribe, which is why the whole screen is forecast.

Free 24-hour access, then optional subscription with 7-day trial. Mac and iOS plans are separate; Apple TV is included with Forecast Bar Gold on iOS.

What "no ads" actually means here

Advertising
None. There are no ad units, interstitials, sponsored tiles or promoted content anywhere in the app.
Advertising SDKs
None are bundled. The app ships without any advertising or attribution SDK.
Third-party analytics
None are bundled. There is no third-party analytics or product-telemetry SDK in the app.
Account
Not required. You get 24 hours of full access with no card and no sign-up.
What is sent
If you enable push alerts, your location is sent to Forecast Bar's own servers — that's how a server knows to tell you it's about to rain on you. See the honest note below.
Funding
Subscriptions, and a Setapp membership option on Mac.

The whole screen is the forecast

No banner, no interstitial, no 'sponsored' row.

Free weather apps are among the most aggressively monetised software most people use daily — because checking the weather is a habit, and habits are valuable. Forecast Bar takes the other deal: you pay for it, and every pixel is forecast.

  • No ad units anywhere in the app
  • No sponsored content in the forecast
  • No interstitials between you and the radar
  • No upsell taking up permanent screen space

Not just 'no ads today'

No advertising or analytics SDKs in the build.

An app with no visible ads can still be carrying an advertising SDK collecting identifiers in the background. Forecast Bar doesn't bundle one — nor a third-party analytics SDK — so there's no code in the app whose job is to build a profile of you.

  • No advertising SDK bundled
  • No attribution or ad-network SDK bundled
  • No third-party analytics or product-telemetry SDK bundled
  • You can start using it without creating an account

An honest note: alerts need to know where you are.

"No tracking" gets used loosely, so here's the specific truth. If you turn on push alerts — severe weather, rain, sunset, aurora — your location has to be sent to Forecast Bar's own servers, because a server has to know where you are in order to decide that a warning applies to you. That's a functional requirement of the feature, not a side business.

What that data isn't used for is advertising. It isn't sold, it isn't shared with ad networks, and there's no advertising SDK in the app that could take it. If you don't enable alerts, you can use Forecast Bar without an account at all.

FAQ

Questions about ads and privacy

Does Forecast Bar have ads?
No. There is no advertising anywhere in Forecast Bar — no banners, no interstitials, no sponsored content. It's funded by subscriptions instead.
Does Forecast Bar include advertising or analytics SDKs?
No. The app doesn't bundle an advertising SDK, an attribution SDK, or a third-party analytics SDK.
Do I need an account to use Forecast Bar?
No. You get 24 hours of full access with no card and no sign-up. An account is only involved when you enable server-delivered features like push alerts.
Does Forecast Bar send my location anywhere?
If you enable push alerts, yes — your location goes to Forecast Bar's own servers, because that's how a server decides a severe weather warning or rain nowcast applies to you. It isn't sold or shared with ad networks, and there's no advertising SDK in the app.
Why is a weather app a subscription?
Weather data isn't free to serve — forecast providers, radar tiles and push infrastructure all cost money per user, every day. The two ways to cover that are subscriptions or advertising. Forecast Bar picked the first one.
How much does Forecast Bar cost?
You get free 24-hour access to everything — no card, no account. After that there is an optional subscription with a 7-day trial, and current pricing is shown in the App Store. Mac and iOS plans are separate; Apple TV is included with Forecast Bar Gold on iOS. See Compare Plans for what each tier includes.
