AI weather stories in Forecast Bar, in short
- What it does
- Turns the forecast for your location into a short written briefing instead of leaving you to interpret a grid of numbers.
- Styles
- Executive Snapshot, Routine Planner, Impact Brief, Lightning Round, or a custom briefing you describe yourself.
- Per-day stories
- Optionally writes a story for each day in the forecast, not just today.
- Calendar
- Optional calendar integration lets the briefing account for what's actually on your day.
- Siri
- An AI Siri forecast lets you ask for it out loud.
- Plan
- Smart Weather Stories are part of Forecast Bar Gold on iOS and Pro on Mac.
Five briefing styles, because people read differently.
A commuter and a contractor need different things from the same forecast. Forecast Bar lets you pick the shape of the briefing — a metrics-forward report, guidance timed around commutes and school runs, a risk-focused narrative, rapid-fire essentials, or a custom brief you describe in your own words.
- Executive Snapshot — a metrics-forward report with context and confidence
- Routine Planner — time-boxed guidance for commutes, school and routines
- Impact Brief — a risk-focused narrative highlighting impacts and actions
- Lightning Round — rapid-fire essentials with headline risks
- My Custom Briefing — describe what you want and it's built around that
Optional calendar integration, so the briefing is about your day.
"Rain 3–6 p.m." matters differently if you have a 4 p.m. meeting across town. Turn on calendar integration and the briefing can take your actual schedule into account — or leave it off and keep your calendar entirely out of it.
- Off by default — you decide whether to enable it
- Briefings can reference the timing of what's on your day
- Per-day stories for each day in the forecast
- A live preview so you can see the style before committing to it
Ask Siri, get the briefing.
The AI Siri forecast puts the same briefing behind a voice request, which is the right interface for the thirty seconds while you're finding your keys. On Apple TV it's on the big screen; on Mac it's a click from the menu bar.
- AI Siri forecast via Siri Shortcuts
- The same briefing on the main screen in the app
- On Mac, one click from the menu bar
- On Apple TV, on the biggest screen in the house
An honest note: the AI writes the summary, it doesn't make the forecast.
The underlying forecast comes from real meteorological sources — The Weather Company, Apple Weather, or the US National Weather Service, whichever you choose. The AI's job is to turn that data into readable prose, not to predict anything itself.
That distinction matters when a briefing sounds more confident than the forecast underneath it deserves. The numbers are always right there next to the story — the charts, the hourly timeline, the radar — and they remain the authoritative version.
