Will I get alerted about eclipses I can't actually see?

No. Solar eclipse alerts are filtered to events visible from your location rather than every eclipse happening anywhere on Earth.

How far in advance do astronomy alerts arrive?

You choose. Each alert has a lead time setting, so you can be told days ahead for something you'd travel for, or an hour ahead for something you'd just step outside for.

Does Forecast Bar show moon phases?

Yes. Moonrise and moonset are available as data points alongside sunrise, sunset, first light, last light, solar noon and total daylight, and the moon phase is shown in the current conditions.

Can Forecast Bar help me plan for a total solar eclipse?

Yes, and the question that decides your day is cloud cover. Forecast Bar gives you the hourly cloud forecast for any saved location, the satellite layer on the radar map to watch cloud moving in, and a solar eclipse alert beforehand if the eclipse is visible from where you are. Save a couple of candidate spots along the path and compare their forecasts as the day approaches. The August 12, 2026 eclipse has passed; the next total solar eclipse over Europe is August 2, 2027, when totality crosses southern Spain and Gibraltar before sweeping across North Africa.
