Forecast Bar is available as part of Setapp, the Mac app subscription service. The Setapp build is the same app with one big difference: everything is unlocked.
Everything included
Your Setapp membership unlocks Forecast Bar at the Pro level (the top tier — called Gold on other platforms). Every feature described in this guide's Mac section — 10-minute updates, notifications, Smart Weather Stories, location compare, all of it — works with no additional purchase. See Plans & Subscriptions for what Pro includes.
Because there's nothing to buy:
- The Subscription tab doesn't appear in Settings.
- You'll never see an upgrade or paywall screen.
Small differences from the App Store build
A few things work slightly differently on Setapp:
- Radar defaults to the 2 Hour Radar layer, and the precipitation section uses the hourly graph rather than the mini radar map (the mini map, its scrubber, and the Radar default view aren't offered in Settings → Data & Layout → Precipitation Section).
- No TestFlight row in Settings → About & More — beta builds are distributed through the App Store version.
- No Sign In With Apple row in About & More.
- After an update, Forecast Bar shows a release notes window at launch so you can see what's new.
Everything else — the menu bar, the weather panel, Dock Mode, and all settings — matches the App Store build exactly.
