Forecast Bar is free to download, and live weather requires a subscription — see Plans & Tiers for what each plan includes. Every subscription comes with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, so you can try everything your plan offers for a full week before you're charged.

How the trial works

Pick a plan on the subscription screen and the subscribe button on iPhone and iPad reads Redeem Your Free Week; the Mac plans include a free intro week too. The trial is a real subscription at the tier you chose — everything that plan includes works immediately, including server-delivered features like alerts and reports.

A few things worth knowing:

• You aren't charged until the trial week ends. Cancel any time before then and you pay nothing.
• Apple handles billing, so the subscription goes on the payment method attached to your Apple Account — that's an Apple requirement for starting any subscription, trial included.
• No Forecast Bar account is needed to subscribe or to use the trial.

Cancelling during the trial

Cancel in your Apple subscription settings — Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone/iPad, or System Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → Manage on Mac. Step-by-step instructions are in Subscribe, Restore & Manage. Cancelling during the trial means you're never charged; the subscription (and the trial) keeps working until the week is up.

When the trial ends

• If you keep the subscription, the first payment goes through at the end of the trial week and everything simply continues.
• If you cancelled, the subscription ends when the trial week does. The app stays installed, but live weather requires an active subscription, so the subscription screen appears in place of forecasts until you subscribe again.
